Just OK

Woody's may be Philly's landmark bar, but there is such a thing as being *too* out of date. The bar & pub rooms downstairs could use some updating, but Woody's shows its age most in its refusal to take credit/debit cards. The drinks, once I found a way to pay for them, were well mixed and not too expensive, and the crowd, such as it was on a Tuesday night, was attractive if a little older and pretty cliquey... even the bartender seemed a little aloof.

Sorry NOT a good experience

I went to this place twice, on hopes that the first experience was a flunk. The first time I paid 4.00 for a bottle of water, and was ignored..the second time I got a drink and was then ignored. Not even a smile from the bartender. I know it is one of the "big bars" in Philly but I cant give this club a good review....sorry.

Good old Woody's

I'm originally from southern NJ and Woody's was my first gay bar/club and introduction to the local gay scene. Have had a lot of memories going there when I was under 21 for Wednesdays college night and after turning 21 as well. I've moved out of the area a few years ago but everytime I go back home I try to hit up woody's and see if I could run into some old friends. It really hasn't changed a bit, it's still the most popular spot in the gayborhood. Like a lotta cities with established gay scenes, venues tend to come and go over the years but their is always one spot that's been there since the beginning, Woody's is that spot for phillies gayborhood.

A MUST SEE

This is is the anchor of the gay scene in Philly. There is everything there from Twinks, queens, silverfoxes and everything in between. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea and the intensity varies every night, you can not go to Philly without makeing a trip or two to WOODY'S

Nice atmosphere - expensive drinks

Nice to have two levels, top level dance area is very spacious and worth the cover. I liked friday night better then Saturday nights music. Bigger crowds on Saturday night. Hot dancers, and they know it. Mix of men and women in the dance area, mostly men in the bar area.
